Oorjja is a social enterprise started by S.S. Jayasankar, a former mechanical engineer turned banking professional with over two decades of experience in the Indian industry. The organization came to be established as a result of his passion for doing compassionate service to the society; through addressing one of its basic needs namely, right education.
Today’s youth is disoriented regarding education and career. The curricula in most schools and colleges emphasize on imparting generalist knowledge with little importance to the acquisition of practical and vocational special skills. The situation is even more alarming when it comes to the training received by students with special needs. The Oorjja model intends to address this glaring lacuna. We bridge the gap between the needs of the industry and the traditional education system through our well-devised program of empowering students with requisite skills. The program has evolved based on input from seasoned professionals from a cross section of the industry.
Oorjja faculty is constituted of experienced trainers. They are well experienced. They bring in vast experience in the spheres of academia and projects but most importantly it is a sense of social commitment that drives them in this endeavor.
