S. S. Jayasankar has more than 20 years of expertise in the Indian business sector as a former mechanical engineer and banking specialist. He resigned from his position as Senior Vice President at HDFC Bank after 22 years in the corporate sector to follow his ambition of creating a platform that would empower people with disabilities. After looking closely at the differently-abled community's struggle with various organisational injustices, he was fueled by a desire to fight for a cause - the right to inclusive education for all. Soon after founding Oorjja as a social enterprise in 2018, he decided to take matters into his own hands and started to organise skilling programmes to ensure corporate engagement with the differently-abled community.
